July 21, 2011 – Sometimes, we wonder if our efforts are bearing fruit. We get to see the cards and anthologies sell; the art on the walls; often, just some young person’s crisis resolved or ameliorated through our actions and facilities. But, too often, one of our projects ends and we are left to wonder what benefits might have come from it for the young people we serve.
So, when we receive a letter such as the one below, it’s a big deal. It gets passed around the office. And we want to share it.
ACT is our Arts Career Training conference, held for the first time last summer, with the second arriving end of this August. It brings in arts professionals from our community to speak to those interested in making a living in their respective fields, whether it be music, film, writing or visual arts. The intent is to provide practical career information for talented people just starting out.
