04-04-12- FTLOL WILL BE CLOSED ON GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 6.

Enjoy the holiday weekend, all.

03-30-12-END OF AN ERIN. END OF THE ERIN ERA ? THE ERA OF ERIN..?

Sadly, we’re saying farewell to a friend and colleague today – Erin Piatt is moving on from FTLOL. Her optimism, empathy, creativity and consistent perkiness will be missed. (Ok, maybe not so much the perkiness – what is with those people, anyway?)

Erin, good luck, be well. Whatever it is you need in the next stage, may it fall on you like a fat karmic avalanche. We’re glad we got to work together and share a part of this ride. (Also, special thanks for putting up with my surliness and bizarre sense of humour for so very long. – Peter)

03-25-12-STUFF WE STILL NEED

There are just a couple more things we need to make our new space complete, and we’d love it if you’d all keep us in mind and put out the word. Specifically, we’re looking for  tv stand, able to hold up a 27″ television, and a small couch/loveseat for our private writing/creative room. Thanks in advance.

As always, we appreciate the support of our participants and the community. We look forward to seeing (and serving) you soon.

03-18-12-BACK ON THE ROAD

After the search for a new location, the move, the reno, and the rest, FTLOL is finally reopening!

Next Wednesday, March 21, is the day we reopen. For the first week, there’ll be an open studio type schedule, to let word get around and give all our participants, friends and supporters a chance to check out the new space and do their own creative thing. We’ll be nearby to get reacquainted and help out if required. After that, we’ll begin offering free workshops again, starting with creative writing and art, and putting out calls for our usual projects, such as the newspaper, anthology and art exhibit.

The hours will be a bit different: we’ll now be open from 1-5, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 37 Cookstown Road, (we’re in the same building as Bridges To Hope, but on the top floor. Just come in through the door on the left and follow the stairs).

FYI, all, this is us reopening the doors and offering our arts space and workshops again, not the party/open house. That’ll happen early summer.

We’re looking forward to getting FTLOL up and running again and we need you to make that happen so spread the word and come on by! We have missed you.

Cheers,
Erin, Gemma and Peter
